Jack Prowse, Wendrons groundsman has been awarded 2nd place in the FA National Groundsman of the Year Awards Ceremony 2009. The category was Step 7 and below.
The awards ceremony was held at Windsor Racecourse on September 10th and Jack received his award from Mark Lawrenson.
Accompanying Jack were Barry Cudmore (Secretary) and Geoff Lee (Chairman) of the Cornwall FA.

Thank The Football Stadia Improvement Fund
The FSIF have awarded Wendron FC a £17035 grant. The award will
enable us to widen and lengthen our main pitch and further improve the
facilities for the benefit of all users.
Paul Thorogood, Chief Executive of the Football Foundation, said:
“A
vibrant community team is vital for the future
of football. The Football Stadia Improvement
Fund’s aim is to revolutionise funding
for the grass roots in the same way the professional
game has been transformed over the last ten years.
I pay a particular tribute to the hard work and
dedication of all at the club for making this
funding a reality.”

Wendron
FC Celebrate Funding Success
£ 650,000 has been awarded
to the Club by the Football Foundation, the
UK’s largest sports charity. This cash
bonanza will allow us to develop our new changing
facilities, including four unisex changing
rooms, four mini changing rooms and two changing
rooms for officials. |

Wendron
Achieves Goal Of Safer Football
Following
a successful funding bid, the Football Foundation
have awarded Wendron FC a £695 grant to
replace its football goals with new, safer ones.
This funding award will allow us to replace football
goals at our Underlane ground. The new goals
will encourage further football development and
that the users will appreciate having the new
improved equipment.
Paul Thorogood, Chief Executive of the Football Foundation, said:
“We are delighted to be able to award
Wendron FC with this cash boost and look forward to working with more
clubs, local authorities and schools in the area."
